Avat Ghaderpour (Persian: آوات قادرپور; also Avat Qaderpour), son of Karim, was a twenty-year-old Kurdish man from Malalar village who lived in Bukan in West Azerbaijan Province.
On Friday 27 Aban 1401 (18 November 2022), during the Woman, Life, Freedom uprising, security forces opened fire on him while he was in his own car at the checkpoint of Nachit village in Bukan County. HANA reports that he was hit by seventeen war rounds and critically wounded, and Hengaw says IRGC forces raked the car with gunfire. He died of his injuries in a hospital in Urmia on 9 Azar (30 November), after twelve days in hospital according to Hengaw. HANA names the hospital as Sayyid al-Shuhada, while Hengaw's list of 134 Kurdish dead (no. 123) names it as Arefian. On the night of 10 Azar, under tight security, he was buried in Malalar.
Kurdpa, Nafas dar Qafas, the Shahidan Ghiyam memorial and the Mazar-e Shaghayegh-ha grave memorial corroborate the checkpoint shooting, the death in Urmia and the burial in Malalar. The Iran Human Rights Society's list of 662 (no. 396) and its consolidated list (20, Bukan, shot, 9 Azar), the NCRI's Persian list of 185 names (no. 567) and its English list (30 November 2022), Persian Wikipedia's table of the 1401 dead and German Wikipedia (20, shot) also record his death.
