Farshid Mousavi

Seyed Farshid Mousavi (Persian: سید فرشید موسوی) was a 24-year-old from Amol in Mazandaran Province.

According to Dadban, he was shot by security agents in Amol on 31 Shahrivar 1401 (22 September 2022), during the Woman, Life, Freedom uprising, and spent about 50 days in hospital. When he was discharged he was arrested and interrogated, and his family were threatened that other relatives would be detained if they did not stay silent. He was released on 25 Aban (16 November) with a broken head, many injection marks on his arm and signs of beating and torture on his body. Two days after his release he fell into a coma and died. Witness Report likewise says he was arrested after leaving hospital and died two days after being released with signs of beating on his body.

His mother recalled that in hospital he could not speak and wrote to her instead: "Mum, get me out of here. They wanted to kill me last night." She said she had thought he was delirious. Dadban and Witness Report say the family were pressured to say he had died of food poisoning and that lung and respiratory illness had weakened his body, while the evidence pointed to torture. Dadban added that, because of the pressure and threats from security bodies, his case had remained little known.

Sources differ on the date of death: Dadban and Witness Report give 27 Aban (18 November), the Shahidan Ghiyam memorial 28 Aban, and the Iran Human Rights Society's list of 662 (no. 333, death under torture), its consolidated list (blow to the head), the NCRI's Persian list (no. 506) and Persian Wikipedia's table of the 1401 dead (no. 461) 29 Aban 1401; the NCRI's English list (no. 490) gives 20 November 2022. German Wikipedia records him as beaten to death.
