Mohammad Javad Farmani

Mohammad Javad Farmani (Persian: محمدجواد فرمانی) was a twenty-four-year-old from Shahr-e Rey, south of Tehran.

He was killed in the opening days of the Woman, Life, Freedom uprising. Community memorial pages and early uprising compilations say security forces shot him directly in the abdomen on 30 Shahrivar 1401 (21 September 2022). Radio Farda's early report on confirmed victims named a Mohammad Farmani, 24, of Shahr-e Rey among those killed by gunfire that week.

The Iran Human Rights Society placed him third in its list of 662 people killed in the 1401 protests, aged 24, from Shahr-e Rey, killed by security forces' gunfire, and its later consolidated list repeats his age and city with the date 30 Shahrivar; the society's English list of 182 dead carries the same entry. Persian Wikipedia's table of the 1401 dead records him as 24 and from Shahr-e Rey. HRANA's report on the first 82 days of the protests lists him as no. 63, aged 24, killed in Tehran by a bullet wound, citing Amnesty International and marking the case as confirmed, but gives the date of death as 8 October 2022 (16 Mehr 1401), more than two weeks after the date in the other lists; the sources do not explain the difference.
