Amnesty International's 2026 report Lives Cut Brutally Short lists SAJJAD GHAEMI BAHMAN BIGLOU, age 30, fatal incident 16 November 2022, Shiraz, Fars. HRANA's report on the first 82 days of the protests lists Sajad Ghaemi Bahman Biglo, 30, Shiraz, 16 November 2022, bullet wound, as #379 in its list of the dead (Confirmed). The Iran Human Rights Society's 662-name compilation and memorial portrait lists also name him among those killed that day.
The state account is different. Vahid Shabani, director-general for security and law enforcement at the Fars governorate, told IRNA, as carried by Arman Shargh and Mashregh News, that he had only been passing through Maaliabad, one of the centers of the unrest, and was not among the protesters. Shabani also said that images of an injured man circulated online as his brother were not of his brother, and that police detectives were working to identify whoever shot him. Free media and Qashqai community memorials continue to count him among the protest dead. Footage of his funeral in Shiraz circulated widely, including remarks by Ruhollah Moradi Qashqai, secretary-general of the Qashqai Freedom Path party, carried by Iran International.
