Sasan Ghorbani (Persian: ساسان قربانی) was born on 18 Tir 1370 (9 July 1991) and lived in Rezvanshahr in Gilan; several lists give his home town as Talesh. From 1391 (2012) he worked with his brother Saman in a blacksmith's workshop. The Iran Human Rights Society's consolidated Gilan list gives his age as 31 and names his father as Saadi.

On the evening of 30 Shahrivar 1401 (21 September 2022), protesters gathered in front of the Rezvanshahr police station. Saman told Radio Farda that his brother was moving 17- and 18-year-olds away from the shooting; opposite the health network building he went to lift a man hit by birdshot and was shot in the right groin with a live round. Instead of being taken to hospital, the two brothers were taken inside the police station, where Saman was beaten with a baton while Sasan lay bleeding on the floor. They finally got him to Shohada Hospital in Rezvanshahr in a car with a broken windscreen, but staff said there was no blood for a transfusion even though young people were ready to donate, and he died on the way to Poursina Hospital in Rasht, hours after being shot. Radio Zamaneh also reported that officers shot him and blocked his rescue, and with Persian Wikipedia describes wounds to the abdomen and thigh. His death certificate gave the cause as impact by hard or sharp objects and an accelerated projectile.

The body was withheld the next day pending a decision of the local security council and released a day later, after his father was made to pledge not to hold a mosque ceremony, bring a Quran reciter or allow a gathering. Farzin Lotfi and Yasin Jamalzadeh were also killed in the Rezvanshahr protests that day. The Iran Human Rights Society's list of 662 (no. 13) records him as shot by security agents in front of the Rezvanshahr post on 30 Shahrivar. The NCRI's Persian list of 185 names (no. 67) and its English cumulative lists (Sasan Qorbani, no. 68 in its Thirteen More list) give 31 Shahrivar (22 September), and Persian Wikipedia's table of the 1401 dead (no. 35) gives 30 Mehr. English and German Wikipedia record him as 31 to 32, shot while helping a wounded protester, beaten in custody and denied medical care.
