Shaho Khezri

Shaho Khezri (شاهو خضری), 21, was from Mahabad in West Azerbaijan. On Thursday, 5 Aban 1401 (27 October 2022), around the fortieth day after Zhina (Mahsa) Amini's killing, security forces opened fire on protesters in the city.

Fellow protester Iman Abdi later told IranWire that around 1 p.m. at Sehrah-e Hafez the two swapped places after tear gas burned Shaho's eyes; a shot rang out and Shaho fell, hit in the head. Abdi wrote that Shaho was killed in his place. Hengaw and Kurdistan Human Rights Network listed him among Kurdish civilians killed that week in Mahabad. Some community memorial pages give 6 Aban and link his death to clashes around Ismail Moloudi's funeral; the dated IranWire eyewitness account places it on 5 Aban at Sehrah-e Hafez.

Hengaw's list of Kurdish citizens killed in the uprising (no. 53) records him under Thursday 5 Aban 1401, killed by direct fire from government forces with a Kalashnikov after a funeral ceremony for Semko Moloudi. The Iran Human Rights Society's list of 662 (no. 136) and its consolidated list, the NCRI's Persian list (no. 332) and Persian Wikipedia's table of the 1401 dead (no. 42, live ammunition) also give 5 Aban 1401, while the NCRI's English list (no. 322) gives 26 October 2022. Kobra Sheikh Saqqa and Zaniar Abubakri, also of Mahabad, are listed beside him on the same date.
