Shirkuh Soltani

Shirkuh Soltani (Persian: شیرکوه سلطانی; also written Shirko, شیرکو) was a Kurdish man from Bukan in West Azerbaijan Province. HRANA and the German Wikipedia list give his age as twenty-five.

He was killed on Friday, 27 Aban 1401 (18 November 2022), during the Woman, Life, Freedom uprising, in the days when security forces opened fire on protesters in Bukan over several nights. The Iran Human Rights Society's list of 662 people killed in the 1401 protests records him as no. 318: “Shirkuh Soltani, from Bukan, killed by security agents' fire, 27 Aban”, and its later consolidated list repeats the entry under West Azerbaijan as Shirko Soltani. The Shahidan Ghiyam memorial also says he was killed by direct fire in Bukan on 27 Aban.

HRANA's report on the first 82 days of the protests lists Shirko Soltani, 25, killed in Bukan on 18 November 2022, with the cause unknown and the case under review, citing social media. The National Council of Resistance of Iran listed him in a statement of late November 2022 (no. 477), in its December 2022 bulletin as no. 493, and in its cumulative lists of January and February 2023 as no. 481 and no. 484. Persian Wikipedia's table of the 1401 dead records him as no. 398. Hengaw's report on the Bukan dead of 26 and 27 Aban and its later statistical list of at least 134 Kurdish citizens killed in the uprising do not include his name. Shahriar Mohammadi of Bukan was shot dead on the evening of the same day, and Saeed Pirmoghani of Bukan was killed the day before.
