Alireza Arghavani (Persian: علیرضا ارغوانی) was a 21-year-old from Qom who had moved to Tehran to work as a mechanic. Witness Report and Iran International's Javidnaman memorial both record his age as 21.
According to Witness Report, he joined the street protests in Tehran on 18 and 19 Dey 1404 (8 and 9 January 2026), and on 19 Dey he was killed by direct fire from security forces. Memorial notes place the shooting on Saltanat-Abad Street in the Pasdaran area. HRANA lists his death as confirmed, and the PMOI/NCRI list of 450 additional names also includes him.
His funeral and the third- and seventh-day ceremonies were held at the Imamzadeh 6 cemetery outside Qom under a heavy presence of Revolutionary Guard and police forces. Witness Report says his family was pressured to accept that he be declared a "martyr" before the body was released, and that Qom provincial state television recorded a forced interview with them. His fortieth-day ceremony was also held under pressure, five days earlier than planned.
