Amir Mohammad Kouhkan

Amir Mohammad Kouhkan (also rendered Amirmohammad Koohkan) was a 26-year-old futsal coach and referee from Neyriz in Fars Province. Hengaw Organization for Human Rights reported that on Saturday, 3 January 2026 (13 Dey 1404), Iranian government forces opened direct fire on protesters in Neyriz and shot him dead.

Sources told Hengaw that Kouhkan was hit by multiple bullets and died at the scene. Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces then took his body; his family's repeated attempts to recover it for burial were unsuccessful at the time of Hengaw's report. He had coached futsal in Neyriz and Shiraz and, over the previous two years, had also worked as a futsal referee after completing officiating courses. Shortly before his killing he posted online: “I don't know. I just want to get out, and there are thoughts in my head.”
