Arnika Dabbagh was a 15-year-old student and national swimming champion from Gorgan, Golestan Province. According to WNCRI and related athlete memorial lists, Arnika was killed on 9 January 2026 after being directly shot by security forces. Earlier social-media reports circulating with her photograph described death from the severity of gunshot injuries amid the communications blackout that hindered access to care.
Her killing has been cited among child and student athletes who died in the January 2026 crackdown.
