Ashkan Osanlou, also known as Hadi, was a thirty-three-year-old only child from Tehran’s Piroozi neighbourhood.
According to IranWire, on Friday, 9 January 2026 (19 Dey 1404) he went out with friends into the Piroozi protests. When tear gas scattered the crowd they lost one another, and security forces shot him at close range. Relatives later identified him at Kahrizak. After a lonely burial the family held a memorial on 15 January 2026 (25 Dey 1404).
Iranian Lives remembers Ashkan as Piroozi’s only son, who lost his life on the nineteenth of Dey.
