Atena Hosseinian
Atena Hosseinian (Persian: آتنا حسینیان) was a mother of a nine-year-old child from Gorgan in Golestan Province. According to local sources who spoke to Iran International, on Thursday, 8 January 2026 (18 Dey 1404) she was killed when security forces opened fire during protests outside the Gorgan governorate building. Witnesses said she was shot in the head in front of her family as violence escalated and forces fired on demonstrators from inside the building.
