Erfan Kari (Persian: عرفان کاری) was a 20-year-old wrestler and a wrestling champion of Tehran Province. Javidan Iran adds that he was a national champion in the cadet category, and Witness Report describes him as a former youth champion. Witness Report gives his father's name as Hossein.

People close to him told Iran International that he admired Navid Afkari, the Shiraz wrestler executed by the Islamic Republic, and always named him as his role model.

On the evening of Thursday 18 Dey 1404 (8 January 2026), in the Khalij-e Fars neighbourhood of Tehran's District 18, security forces shot him in the neck with a live round. According to Javidan Iran, a citizen who was beside him when he was hit took him to hospital, but he could not be saved, and that same person recorded the last images of him on a hospital bed. After his death, friends shared photos of his body, asking that the name and memory of these young champions not be forgotten, and footage of his wrestling training later circulated widely online.

Witness Report lists his burial place as Behesht-e Zahra, Tehran. The PMOI/NCRI list of 450 additional names also records him.
