Fahimeh Najjar Ajam (Persian: فهیمه نجار عجم) was a 29-year-old woman from Azadshahr in Golestan Province. She had a degree in accounting, helped her brother at his pastry shop, and had been planning to emigrate.
On the evening of Thursday, 18 Dey 1404 (8 January 2026), around 10:30 p.m., during protests in Azadshahr, she gave her scarf to help bandage the leg of an injured protester near the courthouse area. Moments later, near Gorgan Street, bursts of gunfire were heard. At first people thought she had been hit in the leg; inside a car it became clear the bullet had struck her chest and that she had died. Witness Report attributes the shooting to IRGC forces. HRANA later listed her death as confirmed.
Her body was returned about a week later. Authorities did not allow a public ceremony. She was buried at 6 a.m. in Azadshahr with only about ten family members present.
