Habib Moallemi was a thirty-three-year-old mechanical engineer at the Mapna industrial group. He was originally from Shirgah in Savadkuh, Mazandaran Province, and was living in the Karaj–Fardis area when the Dey 1404 uprising reached Alborz.
According to IranWire, on Thursday, 8 January 2026 (18 Dey 1404), a state sniper in Fardis shot him with combat rounds to the back of the head and neck and killed him. From Friday, 9 January, his family searched for him at the Kahrizak forensic centre and then Karaj cemeteries, and finally found his body at Behesht-e Sakineh. Security agents pressed them to announce him as a “Basij martyr”; the family refused to let his name be folded into the state’s forces.
