Hossein Mahmoudi Baram was a 36-year-old Lor man from the Falavarjan area of Isfahan Province, remembered by those close to his family as a young protester who still hoped for a country without repression.
On Thursday, 8 January 2026 (18 Dey 1404), he and friends joined street protests in Isfahan. When government forces opened fire, they moved toward Jafarabad in Falavarjan and were met with a barrage of live rounds; a source close to the family told Iran Human Rights that Hossein and several companions were killed there, with many wounded left in the street. Authorities withheld bodies; the family finally recovered his remains around 27 Dey after paying 400 million tomans, reportedly 80 million per bullet, and being threatened not to speak publicly. Hengaw separately listed him among dozens killed across Isfahan Province, including Mobarakeh and Shahreza.
