Hengaw Organization for Human Rights and IranWire verified that on the evening of Friday, 9 January 2026 (19 Dey 1404), he was shot and killed by Iranian government forces during protests in Eslamshahr. His body was taken to the Kahrizak forensic/mortuary complex and later buried in Behesht-e Zahra Cemetery, plot 79, row 19.

Some early English reports described him only as a “young hairdresser” with conflicting age or date details; Hengaw (article 123-1) and IranWire’s memorial feature give the fuller account.
