Record & remembrance

Dates, places, sources, and messages — the same details as the full profile, kept on this page.

Mehdi Rezagholivand was 18 years old and lived in Mohammadshahr, a small town on the edge of Karaj in Alborz Province.

According to a neighbour whose account was published on X in January 2026, on the night before he was killed Mehdi told his mother: "Everyone is being killed. Why shouldn't we go out for freedom?" He was shot dead during the protests in Mohammadshahr, right in front of his family's home. The same neighbour said that four people were killed in their street alone, among them Akbar Pashapour, 37.

The neighbour also said that Mehdi's family was asked to declare that their son had been a member of the Basij militia, so that they would not be charged for the bullet, and that they refused.

His name is recorded, with Karaj as the place of death, in the list of victims published by the National Council of Resistance of Iran on 29 January 2026.
