Mehrdad Kermanjani (also reported as Mehrdad Kermajani; Persian: مهرداد کرماجانی) was a 31-year-old Kurdish man (described by Kolbarnews as Laki) from Kangavar in Kermanshah Province. Hengaw Organization for Human Rights verified that on Friday, 9 January 2026 (19 Dey 1404), he was killed during protests in the Gohardasht area of Karaj after being shot by Iranian government forces.

Kermanshah Voice reported that he was struck from behind in the chest by a war round while in the street protests of Gohardasht; friends’ first efforts could not keep his body from the Behesht-e Sakineh morgue in Karaj. After three days the family brought him home. He was buried under heavy security at Behesht-e Fatemeh Cemetery in Kangavar.

Hengaw listed him among ten Kurds killed in Tehran, Karaj, Qazvin, and Mashhad in that verification round.
