Mohammad Mehdi Jarchi (Persian: محمدمهدی جارچی), known to those close to him as Mehdi, was a resident of Karaj in Alborz Province. Witness Report gives his birth date as 23 January 1988, making him 37, while Javidan Iran's memorial records him as 38. He was his family's only son, and relatives remember his deep love of Iran and of music.

On the evening of Friday, 9 January 2026 (19 Dey 1404), at around 8:30 p.m., during protests in Fardis, Karaj, Iranian government forces shot him in the chest with live ammunition; the bullet struck his heart. He was standing beside his wife. She dragged him to the parking area of the nearest house and then took him to a hospital in Fardis, where he died in her arms about an hour and a half after being shot. According to the person with him, his last words were: "I think I'm dying... Take care of yourself. I love you."

He was buried in Behesht-e Ali cemetery in Eshtehard. HRANA's report The Crimson Winter lists him as a confirmed protest death in Karaj on 9 January 2026, citing BBC Persian as the first source, and his name also appears on the list of the dead published by the government.
