Nima Palizgari (also written Nima Palizgar; Persian: نیما پالیزگری) was a 40-year-old man from Karaj who was killed on the night of Thursday, 8 January 2026 (18 Dey 1404), during the nationwide protests.
According to a relative who spoke to IranWire, he called her on 8 January to say he would come to see her after work, and that evening he went out with his parents. At Fardis Second Square the situation suddenly turned chaotic and he became separated from them. His parents searched for hours while his phone stayed silent, until a friend told them he had been taken to the Parsin Clinic near Fardis Square. By the time the friend arrived, Nima was dead: a single bullet fired by Islamic Republic forces had severed his jugular vein.
His body was first taken home, and on the morning of Friday, 9 January, the family took him to Behesht-e Sakineh cemetery in Karaj to obtain a burial permit. The body was released only on 10 January, after long delays, harassment and demands for large sums of money.
