Raheleh Barghi (c. 1981 – early Dey 1404 / January 2026) was a 44-year-old Azerbaijani civil activist living in Karaj. Relatives and Azerbaijani media remember her as someone who stood with the protests, not a name pulled from a list after the fact. Gunaz TV reported that she was killed by direct fire from security forces during the Dey 1404 uprising and that authorities then refused to return her body, demanding about 800 million tomans from the family, a practice that drew wide condemnation online. Iran International’s Karaj reporting of the same period documented how mosques and ambulances were used in the crackdown; her withheld body became part of that city’s grief. She is remembered by her face and by the body that was withheld from her family, not as a number: a woman from East Azerbaijan who made her life in Alborz.
