Sima Mousavi (Persian: سیما موسوی) was a 37-year-old woman who lived in Karaj in Alborz Province. She had a serious interest in acting and pursued it actively.
On Friday, 9 January 2026 (19 Dey 1404), during the nationwide protests, she was shot dead in the parking area of her residential building in Karaj. According to the Women's Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (WNCRI), she and a friend were about to enter the elevator when security forces arrived and opened fire on them at close range. Another account recorded by The Iran Massacre documentation project says she was being chased by government agents and was shot from behind with live ammunition just as she reached the parking area of her home.
HRANA's report The Crimson Winter lists Sima Mousavi as a confirmed protest death in Karaj on 9 January 2026, and Iran International's Javidnaman memorial also records her among the dead of Karaj on 19 Dey.
