Record & remembrance

Dates, places, sources, and messages — the same details as the full profile, kept on this page.

Tara Rasoulzadeh (تارا رسول‌زاده) was a Kurdish woman from Piranshahr in West Azerbaijan Province, born in 2002. She was a medical student and lived in Tehran.

During the nationwide protests of Dey 1404, she was shot in the forehead in the Narmak area of Tehran. Witness Report records her date of death as 9 January 2026 (19 Dey 1404).

Her father searched for her for twenty days. He finally found and identified her body after opening many of the body bags of those killed; hers carried the number 11487. Nearly four months after her killing, the authorities had still not returned her body to the family. A fee was demanded for its release, and the family came under pressure, including demands that they say she had been a Basij member. Her father refused, and her body remained in the hands of the authorities.
