He was among five Kurdish people whose identities Hengaw verified as killed in the Tehran area that evening, including Golaleh Mahmoudi Azar and Ali Abbasi. Hengaw reported that the bodies of these five were handed over only after families searched among hundreds of bodies in Tehran morgues. Hana Human Rights Organization also recorded his death by direct fire in Varamin. Friends later said his fortieth-day memorial was held and that his name had been little mentioned.

The Iranian government's own published list of January 2026 dead includes him as Erfan Ali Zadeh (علی زاده), son of Kioumars (row 1952). HRANA's Crimson Winter tally lists his death in Varamin as confirmed.
