Her daughter, Zahra Molooki, later opened a memorial account in her mother’s name. She wrote that on the first night Jamileh had chanted in their own alley, and on the nineteenth she went to the city centre; a friend said she seemed transformed, repeating, “How good that we came! What is this life and furniture we’ve clung to?” Zahra posts of her seventy-year-old father’s loneliness, of still dreaming her mother is alive, and of blood on Jamileh’s earring that “will not sink into the earth.” Grave coordinates she shared place Jamileh in Arak Cemetery, special plot 12, row 18.
In their words
What Jamileh Shafiei said, and what others remember about them.
“Mother went out on the 19th for the freedom of the homeland and never came back… I came back to shout her name. Jamileh Shafiei, Mother of Iran.”
Zahra Molooki, daughter, on the memorial account opened in Jamileh’s name (February 2026).
“How good that we came! What is this life and furniture we’ve clung to?”
Words Jamileh repeated the night she went to central Arak, as told by a friend to her daughter.
“You cut my internet? Suspend my account? Do you see the blood on Mother’s earring? This blood will not sink into the earth. It will drown you.”
Zahra Molooki, May 2026.
