Mahmoud Farajnia (Persian: محمود فرج‌نیا) was a 67-year-old Talysh farmer from the village of Miyankuh near Hashtpar (Talesh), Gilan Province. According to his relatives, he had worked for many years in farming and animal husbandry in Miyankuh. He was the father of five children.

He was shot dead during the nationwide protests in Hashtpar. The Hyrcani human rights monitor and other memorial accounts say Basij forces shot him at close range on the night of 18 Dey 1404 (8 January 2026), and that he was hit by dozens of pellets. Hengaw dated his killing to the evening of Friday, 19 Dey 1404 (9 January 2026), and reported that Matin Khosravi was killed in the same protests in Talesh. HRANA lists him among its confirmed victims in Talesh (Hashtpar).

A friend recalled that on the night of the protest call, when young people took cover from the heavy shooting in the streets of Talesh, he refused to leave and said he would stay and not give the street back to the government's forces; he was shot soon after. A video had earlier circulated of him standing with a walking stick in a street in Hashtpar, and Hyrcani later published family footage of him dancing happily with his relatives.
