Saeed Taghvaei (سعید تقوایی, also spelled Taqvaei) was a 34-year-old mechanical engineer and well-known auto-repair craftsman from Arak in Markazi Province, remembered in memorial accounts as a tall, hardworking man of the city's old produce-market district.

On the evening of Friday, 9 January 2026 (19 Dey 1404), as protests filled Arak, he was struck by direct gunfire from Iranian government forces on Ghaem-Maqam Street. Memorial narratives say a round hit his chest; after a day of struggle in hospital, he died. Hengaw Organization for Human Rights verified his identity among eleven people killed that week across Arak, Shazand, and Mahallat. Iran International's Javidnaman memorial places him in Arak.
