Peyman Monbari (Persian: پیمان منبری; also written Menbari or Manbari), son of Ayub Monbari and Sahebeh Veisi, was 25 according to his family, BBC Persian and the Boroumand Center; HRANA's 82-day report lists Peyman Manbari as 29. He was born on 10 Tir 1376 in Nir village in the Zhavehrud area of Sanandaj and worked as a stainless-steel railing craftsman after leaving university to support his family. BBC Persian reported that he was killed nine days before he was to marry a woman he loved.
On the evening of 16 Mehr 1401 (8 October 2022), during protests in Sanandaj's Qatarchian neighborhood near Vakil Street, he was shot from behind by security forces and died of a chest wound. A relative told BBC Persian that he had gone home from work and then joined the protests with a friend around 6 p.m.; when the family reached the hospital, officers poured in and would not even let them weep, then took the body. Security agencies later offered the family money and a monthly stipend for his mother if they would say protesters had killed him; the family refused. His death certificate used the formula common in uprising cases, "collision with hard or sharp objects." He was buried under heavy security at Behesht Mohammadi Cemetery with his six siblings and mother present, while protesters in the streets shouted his name. Before his fortieth day the family were told not to visit the grave, under threat of arrest.
In his last Instagram story he wrote that he would continue until his people, family, and city were fully free. That same day in Sanandaj, Mohammad Amini and others were also killed. Some reports place the shooting near Mordukh Bridge. Iran Pedia, a memorial site aligned with the MEK-led opposition, carries a living portrait of him.
