Shirzad Balayi was a Kurdish resident of Eslamabad-e Gharb (Shabad) in Kermanshah Province and a father of two. Hengaw Organization for Human Rights verified that on Thursday, 8 January 2026, he was shot and killed by Iranian government forces during the protest crackdown in the city.

Informed sources told Hengaw that his body, together with that of Fardin Fuladi, was buried on Saturday, 10 January 2026, at Cheshmeh Khani Chikan Mansouri cemetery. Despite pressure and threats, the families prevented state agents from taking control of the bodies and conducted the burial independently. Hengaw said the verified toll in Shabad had risen to four, including Holako Eivani and Amir Ali Jalilian.
