Mohammad Reza Gorouhi was a 22-year-old from Chenaran in Razavi Khorasan Province. Iran-pedia and Iran International’s Javidnaman list him among the identified dead of the city’s 17 Dey crackdown; the National Council of Resistance of Iran named him in its Chenaran five.

On Wednesday evening, 7 January 2026 (17 Dey 1404), government forces fired directly on protesters in Chenaran. He was killed by live fire that night alongside Mehdi Ghorbandost, Mehdi Validoost, Morteza Jahanbakhsh and Rouhollah Setareh-Moshtari. A provincial deputy governor had already admitted on state television that five protesters were killed in Chenaran without naming them.

Twenty-two years old, Chenaran, remembered with the others taken that night.
