Siavash Shirzad (Persian: سیاوش شیرزاد; also spelled Siyavash) was a 38-year-old Kurdish man from Bukan in West Azerbaijan Province who lived and worked in Tehran. He was a father. His name also appears, with his father's name Anvar, in the list of the dead published by the government in February 2026.
On the evening of Thursday, 18 Dey 1404 (8 January 2026), he joined the protests in northwest Tehran. Iran International reported that he was shot directly by security forces in Sadeghieh while taking part in a group Kurdish dance at a protest gathering. A selfie he took moments before he was shot, in the Punak area, later circulated widely as his last photo. Hengaw and Kurdpa confirmed his identity and that he was killed by live fire, and HRANA lists him among its confirmed victims in Tehran.
His body was handed over to his family on 23 Dey 1404 (13 January 2026) and buried in his hometown of Bukan. On the fortieth day after his death, his family released videos of him dancing a Kurdish dance, which were shared by Iran International and others. He is remembered among the young people shot in Tehran that night, including Nazli Janparvar.
