Zahra Moradi (Persian: زهرا مرادی) was a young Kurdish woman from the village of Hesar near Bukan, in West Azerbaijan Province. She had lived in Tehran with her family for years and worked there as a hairdresser. She had recently married.
On the evening of Thursday, 18 Dey 1404 (8 January 2026), she joined the protests in Tehransar, in western Tehran, together with her uncle and her cousin. Government forces opened fire, and she was hit directly in the head and chest and killed. Her uncle and cousin were badly wounded by pellet fire. Hengaw, Kurdpa and the Kurdistan Human Rights Network all confirmed her identity.
Hengaw listed her among five Kurdish people killed in the Tehran protests, together with Siavash Shirzad, also from Bukan, Golaleh Mahmoudi Azar from Mahabad, Erfan Alizadeh from Lumar in Sirvan County, and Ali Abbasi from Gilan-e Gharb.
