Abdolkhalegh Shahnavazi

Abdolkhalegh Shahnavazi, known to those around him as Omar, was a Baloch man from Zahedan, in Sistan and Baluchestan Province. He was the son of Mohammad Sharif. According to the Abdorrahman Boroumand Center, he was 33 years old.

On Friday, 8 Mehr 1401 (30 September 2022), the day that became known as Zahedan's Bloody Friday, security forces opened fire with live ammunition on worshippers and protesters who had gathered after Friday prayers around the Makki Grand Mosque. Abdolkhalegh was shot and killed there. The Boroumand Center records his death as an arbitrary shooting by state forces.

The investigative report by the Baloch news site Haalvsh, which verified the identities of 121 people killed on Bloody Friday and was published by Kayhan London, lists him as Abdolkhalegh Shahnavazi, son of Mohammad Sharif, known as Omar. Some early victim lists record him only as Omar Shahnavazi.

IHRDC's list of the dead records him as no. 40, Abdul Khalegh (Omar) Shahnavazi, father's name Mohammad Sharif, killed at the Great Mosalla in Zahedan on 30 September 2022. The Iran Human Rights Society's Bloody Friday roster lists him as no. 27 (and again as no. 60 in a later block of the same roster), Abdolkhalegh Shahnavazi of Zahedan, killed on 8 Mehr, and the society's list of 662 people killed in the 1401 protests includes him as no. 62, Abdolkhalegh (Omar) Shahnavazi, son of Mohammad Sharif. The society's later consolidated list records him as Omar (Abdolkhalegh) Shahnavazi of Zahedan, aged 33, father's name Mohammad Sharif, killed by gunfire on 8 Mehr. Persian Wikipedia's list of those killed in the 1401 uprising also names him among the Zahedan dead that day. He is listed separately from Mohammad Omar Shahnavazi, son of Sharif, another Bloody Friday victim.
