Hengaw verified that on the evening of Saturday, 20 Dey 1404 (10 January 2026), he was killed during demonstrations in Shazand by a direct gunshot to the abdomen fired by government forces; Manoto gave the date as 19 Dey. HRANA lists him among its confirmed victims in Shazand. Sources told Hengaw that his burial was carried out under threats and pressure at about 5 a.m., without public notice and without local people being allowed to attend.
Hengaw listed him among eleven victims from Markazi Province confirmed that week, including Mohammad Reza Najafi, also from Shazand. Months later, a memorial post shared his son Rastin's longing for his father.
