Khodadad Shirovani Monfared was a 33-year-old Lur man from Marvdasht in Fars Province and a member of the Baseri nomadic tribe. He was married, the father of two children, and self-employed. According to a post shared after his death, he had gone out to buy flowers for his brother's wedding.

On the evening of Thursday 11 Dey 1404 (1 January 2026), during the nationwide protests in Marvdasht, government forces shot him in the head with birdshot at close range on Taleghani Street, according to Hengaw, Iran International and Radio Farda. Relatives told Radio Farda that he was hit by military forces in front of Police Station 11. He died after being taken for medical treatment. The local member of parliament claimed that police, the IRGC and the Basij did not fire and blamed "thugs", but those close to him rejected that account. He was buried on Friday 12 Dey 1404 at the Marvdasht martyrs cemetery, with a large crowd of men and women attending.
