On the evening of Thursday, 18 Dey 1404 (8 January 2026), during the nationwide uprising, he was shot in the chest by security forces in Shahdshahr and killed. Hengaw Organization for Human Rights verified his killing by direct fire and named him among Lor victims killed in the Tehran metropolitan area that day, together with Shahrouz Mehrabi, Majid Jalilian and Mohammadreza Avazpour. Iran International broadcast video of his fortieth-day memorial on 28 Bahman 1404 (17 February 2026) in Shahdshahr, where mourners played music and cheered his name. HRANA's "Crimson Winter" register lists him as a confirmed victim in Shahriar, and the government's later published list of the dead records him with his father's name as Nabi.
