Mohammadreza Avazpour was a 19-year-old Lor originally from Rumeshkan County in Lorestan Province and a resident of Tehran. Hengaw Organization for Human Rights verified that on Friday, 9 January 2026 (19 Dey 1404), he was killed after being shot directly by Iranian government forces during protests in Tehran.

Mohammadreza Avazpour was a 19-year-old Lor originally from Rumeshkan County in Lorestan Province and a resident of Tehran. Hengaw Organization for Human Rights verified that on Friday, 9 January 2026 (19 Dey 1404), he was killed after being shot directly by Iranian government forces during protests in Tehran.
A knowledgeable source told Hengaw that he had previously lost his father and was working in Tehran as a shop assistant to support his family, including his mother and two sisters aged 15 and 17. Hengaw confirmed his identity among five people killed in Tehran protests, including Majid Jalilian and Yashar Soltanirad.
The Iranian government's own published list of January 2026 dead includes him as Mohammadreza Avazpour (عوض پور), son of Najafali (row 575).
