Kurdpa reports that his body was buried in Bukan cemetery the same night with people present. On 6 Dey 1401 (27 December 2022), his fortieth-day memorial in Bukan drew a large crowd, who chanted "Martyrs never die." Kurdistan Human Rights Network and Iran International recorded the same date and city, and his mother later joined other Bukan mothers of the killed in public mourning when cemetery ceremonies were restricted.
At a gathering of Bukan's justice-seeking mothers at the home of the mother of Shahriar Mohammadi, Khabat Media quoted Hiva's mother: "We will never let go of our children's blood." In November 2024, Voice of America reported that the mothers of Hiva Janjan, Amjad Enayati and Shahriar Mohammadi went to Bukan cemetery for the second anniversary and laid flowers on their sons' graves, although intelligence bodies had kept the cemetery under tight control for ten days, installed security cameras there, summoned several mothers for questioning and told the families not to hold any ceremony or publish any photo or video.
Amnesty International's 2026 report Lives Cut Brutally Short records Hiva Janjan as 32, killed on 17 November 2022 in Bukan, West Azerbaijan, with his portrait and a photograph of his grave. The Hana Human Rights Organisation's memorial gives the same age, city and date.
